Last week’s playlist plus we can now start up our ‘Request-line’ for 19th December show!

Hello everyone.

Thanks for all the +tive vibes both during and after last week’s show. One of the most enjoyable things for me when presenting a ‘live’ show is to see from the comments and posts made on Twitter and Facebook just how much everyone is having a good time. That’s what it’s all about, after all!

#ClassicRock Show on at 7pm (UK time) 10/10. Get ready to rock!!

Hello dear friends.

Tomorrow night sees us all rocking out to your requests…and what a selection!! From bands such as UFO, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Fleetwood Mac, The Answer, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Vandenburg, Tyketto, Sixx A.M., Free, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin…and the list goes on and on.

The playlist is now pumped, primed and ready to go with some David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Thunder, Krokus, Bonafide, The Quireboys, Roy Buchanan added into the mix for good measure.

It’s all set to be a good’un.

Hellyeah!! Bex Rocks @chili_bex brings it to you this Thursday

Bex Rocks, the show that gets louder and louder every month, is back this Thursday from 7pm on Big Rock 247.

If you missed last months then fear not, you can catch it again here.

I’m told that extra sound-proofing will be required as your volume dial will be automatically set to eleventy!!

The Classic Rock Show ‘Special’ – The Seventies – Part 3 of 5 “1974 & 1975” on 19th September. Not to be missed!!

‘The Classic Rock Show’ is back with another ‘Special’ featuring music from the Seventies.

Part 3 will focus on music from ’74 and ’75, years in which the events that grabbed the headlines included the Smallpox Epidemic in India, Tom Baker becomes the fifth Doctor Who, West Germany Wins 1974 World Cup, the UK in 1975 sees the price of petrol rise by almost 70%, Bill Gates and Paul Allen create the company Microsoft and UK Coal Miners receive a 35% pay rise.

Part 2 of the John McCoy interview is now available via #mixcloud

Hello again.

Part 2, the final part of the interview with John McCoy, is now available. We ended Part 1 on the subject of Gillan’s last gig at Wembley. If you haven’t heard Part 1 yet, you can do so by clicking this link here. It’s a great listen – it’s full of rock n roll history.

In Part 2, I began by asking John how this and previous experiences have come to shape his approach to the work he does in the studio when producing bands. The hugely popular Serbian band Riblja Čorba reached #1 with a John McCoy produced album, and John talks about the challenges working with non-English speaking musicians. He also talks about his association with Angel Air Records www.angelair.co.uk

It all makes, I hope, for an entertaining listen into the life of one of Britain’s most talented and recognisable musicians / record producers.
