This is how we did it last week! The Classic Rock Show’s Jan 9 playlist

Good afternoon everyone!

As you can see, last week’s show was made up from old-school ’70s classics and music that brought you right up to the present day…even tracks from forthcoming releases. All in all, it made for another musically varied evening. Tracks that I had originally planned to play but simply couldn’t squeeze in, will be played out on this week’s show.

I’d like to thank you all again for listening in and contributing comments and your memories of gigs/albums etc from the bands we played. The three hours just flew by!

As some of you are aware already, we have opened up this week’s ‘Request-line’. This will close at 10pm [GMT] on Tuesday 14th January. I’m liking what I’m seeing asked for already. You can add your request by either tweeting @classicrockshow or by visiting one of the Facebook links which you’ll find listed below.

NEWS: On tonight’s Classic Rock Show from 7pm…

I’m very much looking forward to tonight’s show as it’s been a couple of weeks since I last sat in the studio.

I mentioned yesterday that we would be playing some new music for you. In addition this, we have music released in the past 12 months from the New Generation Superstars, Fighting Wolves, Black Star Riders, W.E.T. and the Von Hertzen Brothers.

Of course, this show isn’t called ‘The Classic Rock Show’ for nothing. We’ve lined up some prime cuts by Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Diamond Head, Metallica, Sepultura, Van Halen, Joan Jett, UFO, Rainbow, Y&T, Scorpions and….well, a lot more besides.

In our second post yesterday, we announced that Mr John McCoy would be joining me in the studio on Thursday, 30th January. More on that during tonight’s show, but we will play a track from one of those powerhouse trios he has worked with, Mammoth.

Make sure you catch the start of the show at 7pm [‘Listen Link’ can be found on our website] as it’ll be one of those nose-to-tail, good-time rock ‘n’ roll shows we like to give you every week!!

Mr John McCoy [ex #Gillan #Mammoth #GMT #Samson] is ‘The Classic Rock Show’ studio guest on 30th January

On Thursday 30th January, I’ll be joined in the studio by Mr John McCoy [ex Zzebra, Samson, Gillan, GMT, Mammoth].

John has been a regular contributor to the show; indeed, last year we got together to chat about his music career. You can still catch the two-part interview via our Mixcloud stream (see link below), so it’s a real treat for me to welcome him to the studio.

Amongst the usual mayhem that has become the norm over the past four years on a Thursday night, John’s tales of rock ‘n’ roll’s jolly japes will be interspersed with a healthy scattering of some choice of tunes which he has chosen to share with you.

Share this event on your Facebook Timeline and invite all fellow rockers along for this rather special show, more details of which will be announced soon.

Thanks for an amazing 2013. Here’s to 2014!!

Hello there.

That’s another year gone by, huh?!

We hope you’ve enjoyed partying with us throughout the year on a Thursday night. We’ve most certainly enjoyed playing what you wanted to hear.

Without you lot tuning in each and every week and spreading the word we would be nothing. You’ve been absolutely fanf*kintastic!

Here’s the Playlist from last nights show.

Once again, thank you for tuning in last night.

All the tracks this week were chosen by me – a bit of a rarity these days thanks to the popularity of the ‘request-line’ which normally opens on a Sunday. Due to the festivities we chose not to run one this week. Quite a mix of music which, by all accounts, went down well with all of you.

The Classic Rock Show ‘Christmas Party’ is all set to be a cracker!! Feast your mince pies on this…

I’m duty bound to empty my sack again this week, even more so ‘cos it’s Christmas 😉

The Classic Rock Show ‘Christmas Party’ is all set to be a cracker!! Feast your mince pies on this little lot…

Our playlist this week is made up of Magnum, Thin Lizzy, Gillan, Boston, .38 Special, Heart, Iron Butterfly, Humble Pie, Accept, Halestorm, Fall Out Boy, Ozzy, Poison, Bon Jovi, Heavy Pettin’, as well as a couple of dozen or so great sounding rock tracks, intermingled with some festive numbers to keep in the spirit of things.

Come and party with us this Thursday, 7pm – here. We’ll be the loud one’s wearing reindeer antlers, rocking out, generally misbehaving and drinking Jägerbombs.

Sound like a plan? Too right.

We’ve just closed the ‘Request-Line’ for this week and what do we find? Some absolute gems, as we’ve come to expect.

Amongst all these, we’ll also hear from Faster Pussycat, Electric Light Orchestra, Golden Earring, Scorpions, Rainbow, Status Quo, Starz, Robin Trower, Damn Yankees, along with the Black Spiders, Huntress and Lamb Of God, so it’ll be just a bit LOUD in places 😉
