Tonight’s ‘Seventies Special’ from 7pm (UK time) / 1pm EST features music from ’76 and ’77

Hello there!

Here’s a heads-up on what we’ve got for you on the show tonight:-

Choice cuts from 1976 include the likes of Led Zeppelin, Boston, The Eagles, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Heart, Foghat, Electric Light Orchestra, Jethro Tull, Bad Company, Genesis, Peter Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult.

The second part of the show takes us through the year 1977. Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Hawkwind, Peter Gabriel, Ram Jam, Uriah Heep, Foreigner, Rush, Cheap Trick, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Pat Travers, Yes are just some of what’s in store.

Check out Sandi Thom’s version of #GunsNRoses November Rain @Sandi_Thom. We love it! What’s your fave rock cover version?

Hello there!

As mentioned during a show a few weeks ago, I’ve really enjoyed listening to Sandi Thom’s version of a Guns ‘N’ Roses classic, taken from her album called ‘The Covers Collection’. It’s an album crammed full of her interpretations of some of the greatest rock classics; including Heart’s ‘Alone’, ‘Times Like These’ by the Foo Fighters, ‘Black Velvet’ by Alannah Myles, Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On’ and Led Zeppelin’s ‘The Rain Song’, to name but a few.

This got me thinking; it’s been a good while since I put together a Classic Rock Show ‘Cover Versions’ Special. When these have been aired these in the past, a good few surprises have been heard amongst those that are perhaps more familiar to our ears. Each show has always gone down a storm.

I’m putting on another of those ‘Covers’ show for you on Thursday, February 13th at 7pm.

NEWS: On tonight’s Classic Rock Show from 7pm…

I’m very much looking forward to tonight’s show as it’s been a couple of weeks since I last sat in the studio.

I mentioned yesterday that we would be playing some new music for you. In addition this, we have music released in the past 12 months from the New Generation Superstars, Fighting Wolves, Black Star Riders, W.E.T. and the Von Hertzen Brothers.

Of course, this show isn’t called ‘The Classic Rock Show’ for nothing. We’ve lined up some prime cuts by Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Diamond Head, Metallica, Sepultura, Van Halen, Joan Jett, UFO, Rainbow, Y&T, Scorpions and….well, a lot more besides.

In our second post yesterday, we announced that Mr John McCoy would be joining me in the studio on Thursday, 30th January. More on that during tonight’s show, but we will play a track from one of those powerhouse trios he has worked with, Mammoth.

Make sure you catch the start of the show at 7pm [‘Listen Link’ can be found on our website] as it’ll be one of those nose-to-tail, good-time rock ‘n’ roll shows we like to give you every week!!

Tonight from 7pm on The #ClassicRock Show…

Hello everybody

 

First off, thanks for all the nice words of encouragement sent in both during and after last weeks show. We’ll be doing Part 4 (1976 & 1977) of our series of ‘Specials’ which has focussed on the 1970s before the end of the year.

Secondly, Thursday has come around again quickly…thank you!!
