Part 3 of 5 in our series of #ClassicRock Specials celebrating the 70s continues at 7pm tonight

Yes, indeed….it’s a celebration alright!

We kicked off this series of shows with the years 1970 and 1971 – you can listen to Part 1 here >>> http://ow.ly/nn3Ng.

Part 2 covered the years 1972 and 1973 – you can listen to Part 2 here >>> http://ow.ly/oEVph.

Part 3 will focus on music from ’74 and ’75, years in which the events that grabbed the headlines included the Smallpox Epidemic in India, Tom Baker becomes the fifth Doctor Who, West Germany Wins 1974 World Cup, 1975 sees Bill Gates and Paul Allen create the company Microsoft, and in the UK, Coal Miners receive a 35% pay rise and the price of petrol rises by almost 70%!!

Hope you will join us for what will be a trip down memory lane for some and for others one which helps put into context the music of the day against the backdrop of everyday life in the Seventies.

We’ll hear tracks from Suzi Quatro, David Bowie, Genesis, Supertramp, Budgie, Slade, The Sweet, Yes, Mott The Hoople, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Rush, Hawkwind, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, The Who, Alice Cooper, Wings, Aerosmith and many more.

Be sure to tune in to the very best music tonight from 7pm BST on Big Rock 247 http://ow.ly/nn3VC

Interview with Pat Travers. Go see Pat during their ‘Can Do’ tour. Album out on @FrontiersRec @PatTravers #PatTravers #CanDo

It’s always a joy to see a Pat Travers show. The band are sounding so tight and energised. I recently caught up with Pat backstage straight after the opening night of their UK tour which follows right on the back of the latest album release ‘Can Do’, out on Frontiers Records.

We talked about the current tour and had a bit of fun along the way as you invariably do when you talk to the great man…I hope that comes over on here.
