INTERVIEW: Hear Nate Bergman of Lionize giving us his thoughts ahead of LOTR2

You would have had to have been hiding under a very large stone not to have heard that ‘Lords Of The Riff 2’ is soon to bring three of the best up and coming bands together for a tour of the UK.

LOTR 2 begins next month, November 2014, taking in Leeds, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester, Colchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Stoke and London.

Kyng, Anti-Mortem and Lionize have each worked on their craft for a good number of years – since the mid-to-late noughties – steadily growing their fan-base through the writing of great sounding music and seemingly tireless touring.

Lionize came over to the UK for the very first time earlier this year as tour support for fellow Weathermaker lablemates Clutch. The band complemented the headline act admirably, to the extent that the buzz heard coming out of the gigs was not just about Clutch, but Lionize too.

We caught up with Nate Bergman (Guitar/Vocals) to see how the band felt about returning to the UK.

The multi-platinum, Grammy-Award-winning, masked beast that is SLIPKNOT is set to make a long awaited return to UK arenas in January 2015 with their ‘Prepare For Hell’ tour.
Slipknot’s frontman Corey Taylor muses; “The UK has always been very special for us.  In a lot of ways, it’s where this insanity began.  So, for this tour, we decided to try and hit as many places as we could – not only England, but Scotland and Wales as well.  Technically Ireland is Europe, but we’re going there too.  We’re coming back for the people who started this for us: that would be YOU.  Prepare yourselves… Hell is coming.”

INTERVIEW: Reagan Browne returns to England for a mini tour in October. We caught up for a chat.

‘Gypsy Woman’s Got The Groove’ is the new single from Texas born Reagan Browne. We played the song on the show last week and it produced one of the most positive reactions to a new song we’ve seen in a while. Not only does it feature Reagan in top vocal form, the feel-good hooks lead into polished solo work from guest guitarist Eric Johnson.

INTERVIEW: Joanne Shaw Taylor speaks ‘The Dirty Truth’

In May 2014, Joanne Shaw Taylor reunited with her ‘White Sugar’ album producer Jim Gaines, and recorded a new studio album in Memphis.  “The Dirty Truth” is a return to Joanne’s original sound that mixes rock riffs with blues influences. The album is released in the UK today, Monday 22nd September, on Joanne’s boutique label Axehouse Music.

“I wanted to go back into the studio in Memphis with Jim to retain the same vibe that we captured on the first album,” says Joanne. “The new album is a combination of rock and blues. It’s an exciting collaboration, and hopefully my fans will love the more stripped down sound.”

We spoke to Joanne on the anniversary of the passing of Jimi Hendrix. Before we began our chat about ‘The Dirty Truth’ and her upcoming UK tour, we asked Joanne for her thoughts on the day we celebrate Jimi’s life and works.
