Today is tinged with a little sadness as ‘The Classic Rock Show’ makes its last hurrah.

final showHello everyone.

Today is tinged with a little sadness as ‘The Classic Rock Show’ makes its last hurrah.

Looking back over the past six years (plus a few months) and 299 shows, what has always, always made me proud of what’s been achieved is the sense of community amongst you, the listeners.

During that first broadcast on Felixstowe Radio on November 5th 2009, I could never have imagined that the show would’ve gone on from strength to strength, evolving into what it is today.

When being “interviewed” for the presenter’s position at the time, I recall being told that it would be my passion for rock music and knowledge of ‘Classic Rock’ that would stand me in good stead. I think it has and always will.

‘The Classic Rock Show’ won’t disappear forever. I shall run a ‘Special’ every now and again and hopefully you’ll still be about to give it a listen.

I’m looking forward to presenting the Real Rock Show, beginning next week, and bringing you what I will be fresh, new tuneage from un/signed bands that’s meant to be played LOUD.

You, the listeners, the bands I’ve interviewed, the PR guys and girls, the band managers, the road crews, the record label managers, venue staff, industry insiders, all have been incredibly supportive and I want to take this opportunity to recognise that by saying a huge “Thank You” to each and every one of you, including the TCRS Admins who’ve worked their socks off over the years, especially the two Dawn’s, Bex (who double up as a monthly present on the show as ‘Bex Rocks’) and Wendy.

Gonna rock this mofo tonight! Tune in from 7pm GMT ► http://ow.ly/Qi6Rc

Cheers
MJ x
