This week’s ‘Request-line’ is now OPEN!! #classicrock

Hello rockers!

The quality of requests received lately is just fantastic…just keep ’em coming, as it’s now time we opened up this week’s ‘Request-line’!

Either tweet them @ClassicRockShow, post them up on our Facebook Group pinned ‘Request-line’ post or reply to this post directly on our website. Whichever way you want to do it, we just love to hear what you’d like played.

Here we have last Thursday’s playlist for you to peruse.

The Classic Rock Show playlist 16th January 2014

Plenty of variety and great selections from the listener ‘Request-line’, covering five decades of rock in all. Now that can’t be bad!

We also included some new music from the likes of Sandi Thom, Toby Jepson, Skindred and The Brew. You get the feeling that the future of rock music is secured for decades to come when you hear what’s being produced these days.

We’re back with another show on Thursday, 23rd January at 7pm.

Gonna be kickin’ it hard tomorrow night w/ @Skindred @Soiltheband @VizaMusic @Fuckshovel @Hellyeah @Eisbrecher

Hey, what’s up rockers?!

Tomorrow night’s playlist contains all your requests and much more. I’ll be playing tracks from three bands that I’m very much looking forward to seeing next week – all three are appearing on the same bill.

Headliners Skindred begin their ‘Kill The Power’ UK Tour up at the Norwich UEA on January 22nd…I for one am eagerly awaiting their new album set to be released at the end of January. Skindred will be ably supported by SOiL and Viza who have always been offered a warm welcome when they reach these shores; both bands have seemingly unlimited amounts of energy and enthusiasm.

We’re used to playing the odd Rammstein track on The Classic Rock Show, but Eisbrecher are amongst my favourite Tanz Metal bands, turning out great albums and live performances, but get seemingly little recognition or airplay over here in the UK. I’ll be addressing that with a track off their last album. Not only that, we’ve some hard and heavy, badass rock ‘n’ roll from Hellyeah and Fuckshovel.

Blackberry Smoke, Nine Inch Nails, Manfred Mann, Nazareth, White Zombie, Mastadon, Marillion, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy are just a few of the many we’ll be hearing from this Thursday, 7pm www.theclassicrockshow.co.uk

This is how we did it last week! The Classic Rock Show’s Jan 9 playlist

Good afternoon everyone!

As you can see, last week’s show was made up from old-school ’70s classics and music that brought you right up to the present day…even tracks from forthcoming releases. All in all, it made for another musically varied evening. Tracks that I had originally planned to play but simply couldn’t squeeze in, will be played out on this week’s show.

I’d like to thank you all again for listening in and contributing comments and your memories of gigs/albums etc from the bands we played. The three hours just flew by!

As some of you are aware already, we have opened up this week’s ‘Request-line’. This will close at 10pm [GMT] on Tuesday 14th January. NEWS: On tonight’s Classic Rock Show from 7pm…

I’m very much looking forward to tonight’s show as it’s been a couple of weeks since I last sat in the studio.

I mentioned yesterday that we would be playing some new music for you. In addition this, we have music released in the past 12 months from the New Generation Superstars, Fighting Wolves, Black Star Riders, W.E.T. and the Von Hertzen Brothers.

Of course, this show isn’t called ‘The Classic Rock Show’ for nothing. We’ve lined up some prime cuts by Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Diamond Head, Metallica, Sepultura, Van Halen, Joan Jett, UFO, Rainbow, Y&T, Scorpions and….well, a lot more besides.

In our second post yesterday, we announced that Mr John McCoy would be joining me in the studio on Thursday, 30th January. More on that during tonight’s show, but we will play a track from one of those powerhouse trios he has worked with, Mammoth.

Make sure you catch the start of the show at 7pm [‘Listen Link’ can be found on our website] as it’ll be one of those nose-to-tail, good-time rock ‘n’ roll shows we like to give you every week!!

Mr John McCoy [ex #Gillan #Mammoth #GMT #Samson] is ‘The Classic Rock Show’ studio guest on 30th January

On Thursday 30th January, I’ll be joined in the studio by Mr John McCoy [ex Zzebra, Samson, Gillan, GMT, Mammoth].

John has been a regular contributor to the show; indeed, last year we got together to chat about his music career. You can still catch the two-part interview via our Mixcloud stream (see link below), so it’s a real treat for me to welcome him to the studio.

Amongst the usual mayhem that has become the norm over the past four years on a Thursday night, John’s tales of rock ‘n’ roll’s jolly japes will be interspersed with a healthy scattering of some choice of tunes which he has chosen to share with you.

Your requests, PLUS new music from @LoveHateJizzy @SevenDeadly1 and @TheBrewUK. All set to go from 7pm (GMT) this Thursday!!

Wotcha!

We’ve plenty to get through on this weeks show, thanks to a great response to our ‘Request-Line’, including a reference or two concerning a certain Mr Jimmy Page.

All that aside, as you well know by now I like to bring you something fresh. I’ve lined up three bands which have released or just about to release some new material. Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate ‘Crucified’ album has come at last (I’m looking forward to seeing them opening their UK tour next month in Norwich). We’ve also got some cuts from two groups which are set to release albums in February 2014 – The Brew and Seven Deadly.

As always, it’ll be like trying to fit a quart into a pint pot, but you can guarantee that for three hours on a Thursday night from 7pm, your time will be well spent listening to ‘The Classic Rock Show’…the show which has less talk and more ROCK!!
