NEWS: ‘Back To The 80s’ Part 2 – Classic Rock from 1981!

Since we announced the ‘Back To The 80s’ series of shows some months ago, we’ve attracted a number of enquiries about what songs we’ll be playing. Not only that, but we’ve received some fantastic suggestions about what to play.

What can we tell you about this Thursday’s show [Facebook event link here]? Well, hang on to your band patch and stud-adorned denim waistcoat, ‘cos here’s a little taster!

On tonight’s show…

Another week flies by and here we are once again…just a few hours away from showtime.

On tonight’s show, we’ve got all your requests to play, plus a few tracks from bands who released albums this week back in the day, and we’ll see if we can fit in one or two songs which feature artists who would be celebrating their birthdays.

We’re following last week’s Black Stone Cherry competition with another; one which features Aussie band Massive, and a chance to win a CD of their debut album ‘Full Throttle’ (out July 21st on Earache Records), revamped with four new recordings. The competition will open at 8pm tonight – look out for more details on that later on.

All this and much, much more besides, including something from the new Judas Priest album ‘Redeemer Of Souls’, Deep Purple, Night Ranger, David Lee Roth, Night Ranger, Faster Pussycat, Megadeth, W.A.S.P., Saxon, Quiet Riot, Bon Jovi, Status Quo, Budgie, Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Guns N’ Roses, Killswitch Engage, Kingdom Come…phew!

It’s our 4th Anniversary!! Tune in to the show tonight from 7pm!! #ClassicRock

Hello there

Just warming up the studio in readiness for tonight’s 4th Anniversary show.

We’ve got a lot to get through. I’m also joined in the studio by two close friends of The Classic Rock Show – Bex (from Bex Rocks) and Dawn (from Friday Rock Night on Felixstowe Radio). I will obviously have to behave myself!! 😉

We’ll hear two tracks each from Saxon, Whitesnake, Rainbow and AC/DC! We’ve also got some killer tuneage from Cinderella, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Foghat, Cheap Trick, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Clutch, The Dead Daisies, Blackfoot, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Iron Maiden, McCoy, Epysode, Nocturna, Rob Zombie, Demon, Terrorvision, Buckcherry, Danger Danger, Damn Yankees, and a whole load more.

If that’s not enough, we’ll be announcing the lucky winner of the Mott The Hoople competition we’ve been running all this week to win a pair of VIP tickets to their London show at the O2.
