NEWS: ‘Back To The 80s’ Part 3 – Classic Rock from 1982!

This Thursday night, from 7pm GMT, we’ll continue our journey through the 1980s with Part 3 in our series of ‘Specials’; three hours of great music from the year 1982.

‘Back To The 80s’ has been a bit of a trip down memory lane and it’s reminded us all, me included, of just how great the music scene was “Back in the day”.

This week’s show includes music from a time where Rock Music was an ever present on MTV, national radio and mainstream TV from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Asia, Nazareth, Survivor, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, REO Speedwagon, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Samson, Mama’s Boys, Judas Priest, Night Ranger, Gary Moore, Rush, Queen, Cheap Trick, Golden Earring, Tank, Gillan, Triumph, Motorhead, UFO, Magnum, Pat Benatar, Dire Straits, Status Quo, Uriah Heep, The Michael Schenker Group, Y&T, Krokus, Iron Maiden along with a few more besides.

NEWS: New Year’s Day on The Classic Rock Show 7pm GMT

On this week’s show we’ll be setting alight the New Year with a bang: ZZ Top, Status Quo, Shinedown, Def Leppard, UFO, Marillion, Tom Petty & Stevie Nicks, Coheed and Cambria, Cage The Gods, Slaughter for starters.

We’ll also be kicking out the jams from groups appearing on our ‘Top 10 Albums of 2014‘ – Bloody Hammers, Magnum, Uriah Heep, Nothing More, Kyng, Lionize, Massive, Hellyeah, Rival Sons and Blues Pills.

TONIGHT: Our last show before Christmas!

Seasons greeting to you all!

Tonight will be our last show before Christmas and looking down the playlist, it’s one not to be missed.

The requests that have been sent in this week are straight out of the top drawer: NIN, UFO (x2), Tyketto, Great White, Robin Trower, Blues Pills, Pantera, Cancer Bats, W.A.S.P., Steel Panther, Michael Schenker, Gotthard, Magnum, Queensryche and Metallica. I shall do my best to match them with some choice cuts of my own: Stephen Stills’ Manassas, Mike Oldfield, Steve Hackett to name but a few, one or two Christmassy tunes, plus the new singles from Slam Cartel and Thunder.

Beginning tonight at 7pm GMT…it’s sure to be a cracker! (Did you see what I did there?)

Celebrating 5 years of The Classic Rock Show tonight!

We’ve been counting down the days this week and the day has finally arrived.

‘The Classic Rock Show’ and ‘Bex Rocks’ has been bringing together people from the world over to listen to some of the very best rock music around for the past five years.

We’re celebrating our 5th Birthday tonight (from 7pm UK time) and we’d like very much for you to join our celebrations, raise a glass or three of something nice and rock out to some top tuneage!

So, to those who have been with us from the start over the years, all the bands, record labels and PR, and to all our new listeners too, from Bex and myself, a big mahoosive thank you to each and every one of you.

Can I tell you what we’ve got lined up for you tonight? Yes, of course.

Artists such as AC/DC, Skid Row, Gary Moore, Rival Sons, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Bryan Adams, Heart, Deep Purple, Rush, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, The Temperance Movement, Blackberry Smoke amongst others plus we’ll be playing two songs that opened up ‘The Classic Rock Show’ five years ago…from Led Zeppelin and Wishbone Ash.
